What ExportChat Does

ExportChat is a Chrome browser extension that reads the text content of AI chat conversations on supported platforms and converts them into downloadable files (Markdown, PDF, Plain Text, HTML, or JSON).

Data We Do Not Collect

• Your chat content or conversation history
• Your name, email, or any personal identifiers
• Your IP address
• Your browsing history or activity on other websites
• Any account credentials or authentication tokens

How It Works

When you click Export, ExportChat reads the visible text on the current page and generates a file directly in your browser. The file is downloaded to your device. No data is sent to any external server at any point in this process.

Permissions Used

ExportChat requests access to the following domains only:

• chat.openai.com and chatgpt.com — to export ChatGPT conversations
• claude.ai — to export Claude conversations
• gemini.google.com — to export Gemini conversations
• perplexity.ai — to export Perplexity conversations

ExportChat cannot access any other websites, your browsing history, or any data outside these domains.

Third Party Services

ExportChat does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No data is shared with any third party.

ExportChat is fully open source. You can inspect the complete source code at any time on GitHub to verify these claims independently.

Children's Privacy

ExportChat does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. As no data is collected from any user, this applies universally.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes in a future version, this page will be updated and the 'Last updated' date will reflect the change.
